• A notary public is typically a solicitor that has taken another qualification to become a notary public. There are a few notaries that are not also solicitors but this is less common. The primary function of a notary public is the certification or authentication of documents and signature

• Stamp duty is the evidence that a property has been bought either in the buyer's or seller's name and is valid for 6 months. It is levied on all property transactions that are legal. There are a number of documents which require stamp duty.
• The total Stamp Duty to be borne by the homebuyer in the metro city of Maharashtra has been raised to six per cent and additional Rs. 30,000/- as registration charges. In April 2018 (Stamp duty Percentage varies in various cities as per Local Municipal Limits)
• The fee for property registration is payable over and above the stamp duty. The registration fee is applicable in case of properties that cost over Rs. 30,000. This fee is usually calculated at 1% of the agreement value or the market value, whichever is lower.
The Notice of Intimation should be filed within 30 days from the date of mortgage. Filing the Notice of Intimation lies solely with the mortgagor/s, borrower/s. Also exclusions is the time taken for signing the Notice of Intimation by all borrowers along with their photographs.
